You film we edit – Set up

Taking into account what we have discussed in the previous videos we are going to begin by showing you a few different set ups for filming the best video.

Firstly, we will begin with smartphone set ups. We have placed ours on a phone tripod however if you don’t have one of these you can either use a stack of books or boxes to get it the right height. We can also supply you with a list of low cost products that you can use to create your videos.

You can also choose to simply hold your phone; however, this can cause more shakes and be harder for editing.

For a camera-based set up, use a DSLR camera that can film at 1080pi and ideally use a tripod to keep it steady. Then ensure it is fully focused on you, which you may need help to do, or place something in place of you to focus on where you will be standing.

Next, set up lights in the background and make sure it looks right in the camera, this might take a bit of tweaking to get it right, but once you do it will really bring you out in the video. Again, you may need somebody to step into where you will be standing so that you can check the position and lights.

Finally, test your audio and video to see how it looks and sounds before you go ahead with the final video.

Now you are ready to go ahead and film your video!
